Bank of Ireland, one of the largest providers of financial services in Ireland, was established in 1783 and is publicly quoted on the Dublin, London and New York Stock Exchanges.

Bank of Ireland established its worldwide investment management operations, Bank of Ireland Asset Management Limited (BIAM), in 1966. As of June 30, 2010 BIAM managed over $30.7b in global securities for a wide range of clients on a global basis.

BIAM (U.S.) was established in 1987 to provide investment management services to North American investors. As of June 30, 2010 BIAM (U.S.) had $191m under management on behalf of its North American clients.
